The Broadcasting Deal
Germany’s 2026 World Cup broadcast landscape is split between public and private:
- ARD (Das Erste): 24 free-to-air matches including the opening match, one semi-final, and a share of the final
- ZDF: 24 free-to-air matches including one semi-final and a share of the final
- MagentaTV (Deutsche Telekom): All 104 matches — the only platform showing every game. 56 matches are MagentaTV exclusives (group-stage matches not selected by ARD/ZDF)
All Germany group-stage matches are guaranteed on ARD or ZDF. Germany plays in Group E against Ecuador, Côte d’Ivoire, and Curaçao.
