With Inter, he has gone on to win three Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias, and reached the final of the UEFA Europa League in 2020 and the UEFA Champions League in 2023 and 2025.
He made his senior international debut in 2018 and has won the 2021 Copa América, 2022 FIFA World Cup, and 2024 Copa América, winning the Golden Boot as top scorer of the latter and scoring the winner in the final.
He also won the Serie A Most Valuable Player and finished as league top scorer in the 2023–24 season.
Martínez first represented Argentina at youth level, playing in both the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2017 South American U-20 Championship.
