Currently plying his trade at Al Ahly, a commanding presence between the posts, Mohamed El-Shenawy is known for sharp reflexes and assured shot-stopping, serving as the last line of defense for Egypt. Has earned 60 international caps, making him one of the most experienced goalkeepers in the squad. Born in 1988, the 37-year-old veteran continues to compete at the highest level, bringing invaluable experience and professionalism. He helped the club win four consecutive Egyptian Premier League titles (2016–17, 2017–18, 2018–19 and 2019–20) and two consecutive CAF Champions League titles (2019–20 and 2020–21).
He was selected as the starting goalkeeper for their squad at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, playing in their opening two matches.
El Shenawy made his international debut for Egypt in March 2018 in a friendly match.
